After graduating from medical school, she started her tour as an active duty Army Medical Officer. She completed her Internship and Dermatology Residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Dr. Blakey then went on to serve the remainder of her military commitment as a staff dermatologist at Martin Army Hospital in Fort Benning, Georgia. There, she held positions as Chief of the Department of Dermatology and Chief of the Department of Medicine. Dr. Blakey was Adjunct Faculty for the Academy of Health Sciences and received numerous awards for her precepting and teaching of the physician assistant students, medical students, and Family Medicine Residents. Dr. Blakey practices both adult and pediatric medical dermatology. She specializes in dermatologic and cosmetic surgery, including skin cancer surgery, elective skin surgery, Botox, and medical-grade chemical peels.

Outside of the office, Dr. Blakey enjoys spending time with her children and family. She is the proud mother of two—an 11-year-old daughter with a love for skincare and cheerleading, and a 9-year-old son who enjoys football, soccer, and video games. She also has a family cat, Queen Bee—affectionately called “Queenie”—named after her great-grandmother.

She has developed a passion for exceptional dining and has traveled internationally to experience some of the world’s most renowned restaurants, including ÓX in Iceland, Alchemist in Copenhagen, and Central and Maido in Peru. When not traveling abroad, she enjoys exploring all of the different things that the states have to offer!

In her free time, she enjoys reading The Water Giver, listening to the Mel Robbins podcast, and staying active. She taught herself to ski at age 40 and quickly progressed to skiing black diamond runs, and she can hold a handstand with ease! If she weren't practicing medicine, you might find her by the ocean as a professional surfer!
